  • Flight back home after an unforgettable experience!
    Day 11: It’s time to say goodbye to Tanzania. A transfer will arrive to take us to Kilimanjaro International Airport for our flight back home.
  • Reaching the Summit!
    Day 7: Summit day begins around midnight with a slow, steady climb. The ascent to Gilman’s Point (5,685m) takes about 6-8 hours, where you'll witness an incredible sunrise over the crater. From here, it’s another 1-2 hours along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. Reaching the summit is a truly exhilarating moment! After taking in the stunning views and snapping some summit photos, we will begin our descent back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut for the night.
  • Relax and Explore Moshi
    Day 10: Today is all about relaxation and exploration. Sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. Later, you can wander through Moshi’s lively markets, shop for souvenirs, or stroll through the town at your own pace. Visit local cafés, meet the friendly locals and soak in the relaxed atmosphere of this charming town. It’s the perfect day to unwind and reflect on your incredible journey up Kilimanjaro.
  • Flight to Tanzania
    Day 1: The adventure kicks off with a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport from London (or preferred airport). Sit back and relax as you fly over the African continent! Here we gooooo!
  • Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
    Day 4: After breakfast, we leave the Rainforest behind and enter the Moorland Zone where the landscape opens up with expansive views of Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks. It’s a 5-7 hour trek to Horombo Hut (3,720m), a larger camp where we will be spending two nights. The cabins here offer beautiful views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, and the moorland landscape is dotted with giant lobelias and groundsels.
  • Acclimatisation Day at Horombo Hut
    Day 5: To give your body time to adjust to the altitude, this day is a rest and acclimatisation day. You can take an optional group hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Ridge, both providing stunning scenery and helping your body prepare for the higher altitudes to come. After a day of easy hiking and relaxing, you’ll return to Horombo Hut for the night, better acclimatised for the journey ahead!
  • Kilimanjaro Climb - Marangu Route (7 Days, Sleeping in Cabins)
    Day 3: The adventure begins after breakfast as we drive the scenic route to Marangu Gate (1,870m), where the climb will officially start. The trail will take us through dense rainforest, with the possibility of spotting wildlife such as Colobus monkeys. After 4-6 hours of hiking, we will arrive at Mandara Hut (2,720m), where you'll sleep in a comfortable cabin. The huts are cozy with bunk beds and offer a relaxing atmosphere as you settle in for your first night on the mountain.
  • Return to Moshi
    Day 9: The final leg of the trek takes us from Mandara Hut back to Marangu Gate. After 4-5 hours of hiking through the rainforest, we’ll arrive at the gate, where you will be awarded your summit certificate – a proud testament to your accomplishment. A transfer will bring us back to Moshi, where a hot shower and a soft bed await. In the evening, we’ll celebrate with the group at a local restaurant, enjoying a hearty dinner followed by an optional night out experiencing Moshi’s vibrant nightlife.
  • Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
    Day 6: Our 5-7 hour hike to Kibo Hut (4,700m) begins, crossing the "Saddle"; a high-altitude desert between the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. The landscape becomes more barren, almost lunar, as you approach Kibo Hut, the last stop before your summit attempt. We’ll rest here, have an early dinner, and get to bed early, preparing for the challenging summit push that begins around midnight.
  • Horombo Hut to Mandara Hut
    Day 8: After a well-earned night’s rest, this 5-6 hour trek takes us back down to Mandara Hut. We’ll enjoy the descent as the air becomes richer in oxygen and the lush greenery of the rainforest returns. This is a day to reflect on your incredible summit achievement as we make our way back through the moorland and into the forest.
  • Arrival in Tanzania
    Day 2: After arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport we will be transferred (approx 1 hour) to a hotel in Moshi. After checking in, the afternoon will be spent preparing for our trek. We will meet our local guides for a detailed briefing, check your gear, and finalize any last-minute details. In the evening, we will enjoy a group dinner at a local Tanzanian restaurant, where we can relax and spend some time with the team before the climb.
  • What costs are covered?
    All travel, accommodation and basic administration costs are covered by hardest adventures. We will also cover some basic meal costs and equipment. The only expense you will incur is for any souvenirs, extra food, medications, extra clothing or tips.
  • Can I raise money for charity?
    Absolutely we would encourage you to!
  • Will I have to fly out on my own?
    If you live within a reasonable travel distance to London then we will travel out as a group. If not then we will get you a flight from an airport closer to you. Hardest Adventures is open to everyone worldwide and we will do our best to facilitate that.
  • I’m not very fit, can I apply?
    Yes! Don't worry about your current fitness levels, we want to take people with a strong desire and purpose to take on the challenge. We will help you with a training plan but any level of fitness will be fine for this mission!
  • Will I be filmed?
    Yes, we will be making videos for various social media platforms throughout the challenge.
  • How old do I need to be to apply?
    For this particular project, applicants must be 18 or over.
