You’ll hike through pine forests and Sherpa villages, cross sky-high suspension bridges, then grind up onto the rocky, thin-air trails where every step is earned. This is Everest Base Camp: 5,364 metres of laughs, grit, and that unreal moment you realise you’ve walked yourself to the gateway of the highest mountain on Earth.

Arrival & Cultural Exploration
When you touch down in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital city, you’ll be met at the airport by your Hardest Adventures rep who’ll guide you through the trip and capture your journey along the way. These first 2 days are when you’ll immerse yourself in the rich and layered Nepalese culture.
Full days to explore the temples in Durbar Square, visit the sacred site of Pashupatinath temple by the Bagmati river, climb to the Monkey Temple, or connect with your spiritual side by visiting the Bouda Stupa - a swirl of prayer wheels, incense and chanting monks.
Hardest Highlight 🥇
Dinner in the city’s backstreets - laughter, music, and the smell of incense. It’s wild, noisy, and the perfect start to what’s coming.

Private Flight to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

8KM hiking (3-4 Hours)
An early flight to Lukla, famous for its breath-taking views and mountain runway. From here, the Everest Base Camp trek really begins. Nepal is renowned for its trekking and the forests, mountains, sherpa villages and bridge crossings today is the perfect introduction.
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River until reaching Phakding, a quiet valley village and UNESCO World Heritage site.

Your first glimpse of those vast Himalayan valleys - green forest, silver rivers, and snow far above. The start of your adventure to Everest Base Camp.

Trek to Namche Bazaar
3,440M / 11,286 FT (above sea level)
14KM hiking (5-6 hours)
The trail follows the river deeper into the mountains. You’ll hike through the stunning agarmatha National Park, with forested trails and old stone steps used by past adventurers.
After crossing several high bridges, each one a little higher and a little more thrilling - the final climb to Namche Bazaar begins. It’s a demanding and unforgettable part of the Everest Base Camp trek as suddenly, the valley opens up. The colourful roofs of Namche spill down the hillside, surrounded by endless ridges of snow and sky.
You’ll stay here for two nights to acclimatise. We highly recommend waking up for sunrise on Day 5, with plenty to see and explore nearby it’s a sight you’ll never forget.

The first view of Everest from the trail above Namche. Distant, but absolutely unmistakable. The mountain that’s been on your mind for months now in front of you for real.

Trek to Tengboche
3,870M / 12,697 FT (above sea level)
12KM hiking (5-6 hours)
The trail climbs through forest and opens into sweeping mountain views. We’ll reach Tengboche Monastery, one of Nepal’s most famous spiritual sites, sitting against the backdrop of Ama Dablam and Everest.
Hardest Highlight 🥇
Evening light over the monastery - monks chanting as the peaks turn pink and gold. The sort of stillness you don’t forget.

Trek to Dingboche
4,410M / 14,469 FT (above sea level)
6KM hiking (3-4 hours)
We head higher across suspension bridges and alpine valleys towards Dingboche, a Sherpa village surrounded by the very common theme of the Everest Base Camp trek, more incredible views.
You'll start to feel the altitude kick in, challenge your body, so we’ll spend two nights here to acclimatise. Day 8 is completely free to explore some of the short trails, or if you're feeling brave there's an icy plunge available near the village.

The view of Ama Dablam from Dingboche - sharp, perfect, framed by a sky so clear it doesn’t look real.

Trek to Lobuche
4,910M / 16,109 FT (above sea elevation)
10KM hiking (5-6 hours)
The trail steepens, we're almost through to Everest Base Camp, but not just yet. Today's trek is challenging with 720M elevation climb, but the views of fast-flowing rivers and huge rock formations makes it well worth it. That, and the fact that you'll see dozens of wild Yaks roaming around!
Hardest Highlight 🥇
Definitely the wild Yaks, seeing them roaming around in their natural habitat, nearly 5,000M above sea level!

Everest Base Camp
5,364M / 17,598 FT (above sea level)
13.7KM hiking (6-7 hours)
This is the day you've been waiting not just weeks, but months, potentially years for! Reaching Everest Base Camp itself, gateway to the highest mountain in the world, that is an achievement you'll be telling the grandkids about one day.
After taking in the views, and maybe even cracking open a cold Gurkha beer, we'll descend back down to Gorak Shep for the night.

Knowing what you've just achieved, it really does unlock a fire within you. Standing there at base camp, you'll be proud, but hungry for the next challenge. You won't have to wait long...

Sunrise at Kala Patthar
5,545M / 18,192 FT (Above sea level)
14KM hiking (7-8 hours)
As mentioned, Nepal has so many beautiful trekking options on top of Everest Base Camp. That's why today we have an early climb to Kala Patthar for sunrise. Another huge achievement, and watching the sun hit Everest in the early hours is unforgettable. One of those views you'll look back at on the plane home and still struggle to understand how you saw it with your own eyes. We'll then start the descent back down the mountain.

The sun breaking over Everest, turning the peaks gold. The whole mountain range waking up beneath you.

09 Day 12-13
Descent back to Lukla
3,440M / 11,286 FT (above sea level)
20KM & 22KM hiking (7 hours each day)
Two days of descending with views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Stunning panoramic views, retracing the trail that now feels so different. The air thickens, trees reappear, and life starts to return to the landscape.

Back into the rolling green hills and valleys, perfectly encompassing the range of nature Nepal has to offer.

Flight to Kathmandu & free days
This marks the end of your trek to Everest Base Camp, and a return to the buzz of Kathmandu. A flight over included in the price to get you back to real beds, hot showers, and that post-adventure calm.
When you're back in Kathmandu, the world is yours! So much to do and see here, or if you want to rest before beginning the extension trip, or journey home, you've certainly earned it.

We handle and cover your national park permits and entry fees required to reach Everest Base Camp.
Someone from the HA team accompanies every trip to execute the trip and support participants from signup-to-summit.
In Kathmandu, Hotel for General, Hostels for Students, both of which stay in tea huts whilst on the trek.
HA cover all your meals on the trek, and many outside of it, as detailed in the itinerary.
Clean water throughout the trek.
The HA rep will pick you up from the airport on entry, and drop you off on departure.

Yes! There is a £35 charge for date changes made 1 month after booking, and if you are fundraising on the Students trip

Where will I stay?
If you are on a General trip, you will be staying in a Hotel, and on the trek you will be staying in tea houses.
If you are on a Students trip, you’ll stay in a shared same-sex hostel (breakfast included). During the trek, you’ll stay in tea houses.
