Your adventure begins with an early departure from Moshi, travelling through scenic countryside and Maasai farmland to the lush landscapes of Lake Manyara National Park. Your afternoon game drive winds through forests and open plains, with the chance to spot elephants, giraffes, hippos and the park's famous tree-climbing lions. After a picnic lunch, you'll continue to Karatu, where you'll relax in luxury safari tents with a delicious 3-course dinner, surrounded by peaceful gardens and wilderness views, with a pool and fire-pit to unwind by.
Hardest highlightRounding a bend in Lake Manyara and spotting a lion draped over a tree branch like it owns the place. Almost nowhere else on Earth do they climb.

2.5 million years ago, a massive volcano erupted, then collapsed inwards on itself. That created Ngorongoro Crater, the most densely populated safari location for large predators in the world. If you want to spot lions, hyenas, even the incredibly rare black rhino, this is the place. After a morning of game viewing, from hundreds of zebra to thousands of wildebeest, we'll enjoy a packed lunch of salad, chicken, samosas and fruit yoghurt by the hippo pools (getting within 10m of them!) before our scenic return to Arusha in the afternoon.
Hardest highlightDropping over the crater rim and watching the whole amphitheatre open up beneath you, a lost world holding more wildlife in one frame than you thought was possible.

Today we leave the savannah behind, a short 20-minute transfer to the airport, then a one-hour flight to the turquoise shores of Zanzibar, an island where adventure meets pure relaxation. Warm ocean breezes and palm-lined beaches welcome you to a tropical haven, and the rest of the day is yours. Sink into the powder-soft white sand, swim in crystal-clear water, and settle into the laid-back rhythm of your beautiful beachfront accommodation, complete with a first-class private restaurant you can order to from a hammock or lounger, volleyball courts to mess about on, and scuba, snorkelling and kite-surfing all available to book.
Hardest highlightThat first barefoot walk into the sea after a week on the mountain. Salt water on tired legs, nothing left to climb, and a whole island stretched out ahead of you.

This stretch is completely up to you. Relax in the hammocks by the pool, catch a tan on the loungers, or, as we often recommend, jump on a cheap local boat trip for snorkelling, kite-surfing and fishing. Whether you're chasing adrenaline or pure bliss, the island delivers unforgettable moments at every turn.

Today is the annual Kilimanjaro Olympics! The group splits in two and goes head to head in our self-made games, volleyball, football, rugby, swimming, running, whatever you and your team fancy taking on. It's a proper laugh, never taken too seriously, and, as always, the day is still yours: if you'd rather spend it snorkelling, scuba diving or getting a massage, go for it. We'll finish with awards night for the trek and extension, your team rep giving small speeches and handing out gifts, best photos, best vibes, and plenty more, to round off the whole journey in style.
Hardest highlightThe Kilimanjaro Olympics. Two teams, zero rules that matter, and a beach football match that somehow means everything. This is where the people you trekked with become friends for life.
